Clusters can span multiple datacenters or cloud environments. The primary site may host several nodes, enabling local failover in the event of an outage. If all local recovery options at the primary site are exhausted, the system will switch over to a secondary site’s nodes. MetroCluster configurations ensure a zero Recovery Point Objective (RPO), even in disaster recovery scenarios.
